Patrizia Vignolo

Patrizia Vignolo was born in 1970 in Lavagna (Italy). She studied for her master degree in Physics in Pisa (Italy), while her master thesis was developed in A. Aspect's team (Paris XI) about the non-destructive detection of the reflection of an atomic cold gas (1994). In 1995 she continued her research in the same team with a research fellowship funded by the ``Human Capital and Mobility'' project. Then she went back to Pisa in the team directed by G. Grosso to prepare her PhD about electronic properties of conjugated polymers and defended her thesis in February 1999. From 2000 to 2006 she was first postdoc, then contract researcher at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, in M. Tosi's team, where she started working on the theory of ultracold gases. She got a permanent position as professor at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis in 2007. Since the beginning of her carreer, she has coauthored more than 50 publications in peer reviewed international journals.

She will bring to the project her knowledge of the condensation phenomena in conservative systems and a new point of view on experiments dealing with dissipative solitons.
